Religion Media Foundation
Wherever Those Stories Are Found
At a moment when religious division dominates the headlines, Religion Media Foundation chooses a different story, producing original media that illuminates faith, coexistence, and the human spirit across traditions, borders, and generations.
Founded in January 2020, Religion Media Foundation is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to producing original media projects that tell powerful stories of our common search for meaning, wherever those stories are found.
We believe that authentic storytelling, grounded in journalism, animated by human encounter, and shaped by the craft of documentary filmmaking, can bridge the divides that separate religious communities from one another and from the broader public.
Our work spans documentary film, journalism, and media advocacy, always in service of the communities and conversations that matter most.
"Powerful stories of our common search for meaning, wherever those stories are found."
On the evening of April 13, 2025, Religion Media Foundation founder Tom Gallagher received the Eirene Award in the category of Peace at the inaugural Global Justice, Love & Peace Summit in Dubai, one of only 28 honorees selected from 84 nominated individuals through a rigorous, merit-based process conducted by an independent committee representing 28 countries.
"Eirene is a Greek word that means 'peace,' representing a state of harmony and well-being, both externally and internally. In Greek mythology, Eirene is also the goddess of peace, symbolizing the reconciliation and unity of what was once divided."
The award recognized Tom's documentary Amen-Amen-Amen: A Story of Our Times, broadcast nationally on PBS, and premiered in Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Dubai, Jakarta, London, and at the Vatican. It was presented by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ouided Bouchamaoui, alongside fellow honoree Jane Goodall and more than a dozen Nobel Peace Prize winners gathered on a single stage, a historic first.
The summit was organized by the I Am Peacekeeper Movement under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and united more than 1,200 delegates from around the world.
Presented by Religion Media Foundation
In the weeks following the Abraham Accords, a remarkable experiment in coexistence was already underway in Abu Dhabi, long before the diplomatic breakthrough made global headlines. Amen-Amen-Amen is the story of what happened when Jews, Muslims, and Christians chose to build something together.
Conceived in December 2018, the film was completed in July 2021 and has since won over 35 international awards, and was broadcast nationally on PBS, reaching millions of viewers across America.
"It was an honour to be entrusted with this story and with the exclusive footage of the Torah Scroll gift ceremony. Religious pluralism does exist in the Arabian Gulf."
- Tom Gallagher, Director & Producer
"The UAE champions a tolerant, diverse, and inclusive society. Amen-Amen-Amen serves as a powerful testament to the UAE's genuine commitment to these values."
- H.E. Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK
"For many of the people I was meeting, I was the first Jewish person they had ever met. And yet we built something extraordinary together."
- Eli Epstein, Interfaith Activist
